Cartoon blog day 20: Freedom and relationship

20181101 CBD20 Venom and freedom

On a positive note before I take your morale down with me talking to you about my relationship to relationships, I enjoyed VENOM and I made a video about it on my Youtube channel MOVIE MESSENGER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmcRNqAscB4

I don’t have enough distance from my own life to assess whether I am stuck on a loop of my own self persuasion. I seem to give my self excuses for not being in a relationship going so far as questioning the purpose of a relationship.

Then I catch myself doing what I criticize about most people who are in a relationship. I said in one of my previous post: I feel like people see relationships as a means to an end, not an end in itself. So by questioning the purpose of a relationship I am making the same mistake.

OK then I can be in a relationship as long as I cherish the relationship and its intrinsic value. But I am at a moment in my life where I don’t see what another person (woman) can bring to my life. Of course, other than sex.

But if I engage in a relationship with only sex in mind, it’s not fair for the girl. Because everyone has expectations in relationships.

Yes but how I can find a girl if I don’t try?

I lost the motivation to try for a long time, I don’t know if it’s because creating art has given me enough fulfillment or because I haven’t met an interesting girl who was interested in me for who I was, maybe both.

Bonne journée.

Cartoon blog day 17: Skin whitening

OK let’s get past the obvious : “It’s what’s on the inside that counts”. As true as it is, you can’t put a myriad of reasons in one sentence.

Let’s start at the beginning, all questions lead to one question: What’s important?

I have already mentioned in one of my previous posts that the meaning of life is LIFE itself, life is the process you have to fall in love with.

You need life to continue your search for meaning. As long as there is life there is HOPE.

For you to be alive, you need health.

So if you are a person who uses skin whitening products or if you know any person using such products, stop for a moment and ask yourself if this is healthy.

You might say, but if it’s not healthy why do all these companies sell them. They also sell guns and cigarettes remember? Do you think companies care about your health? I mean more people die nowadays not because of famine but because they eat too much.

European people tan: Why is tanning different from skin whitening?

First tanning is temporary but whitening is permanent. Skin whitening is altering your natural pigmentation to leave you more defenseless against UV.

Your dark skin is not a biological defect it’s part of a long line of evolution.

People might say: “Oh relax Boris that comes from a long history in different cultures from seeing rich people with lighter skin because they never worked outside compared to the peasants who work under the sun.”

Well fat people were also considered well fed, so what do people want to be fit and healthy?

If you ask me, my skin represents not only who I am and how people see me, but who my ancestors were. OK forget the ancestors it’s a gift from my parents and I love it just like I love them.

You don’t need a whiter skin, you need a healthy one.

Cartoon blog day 16: Real meat

CBD16 Real meat.jpg

I find optimism where other people find nihilism. He said ironically.

All jokes aside I totally understand the vegan movement. The current mass production of meat is the result of mass demand. You reduce the demand you reduce the offer.

What can I say that hasn’t been said ?

In my loneliness, I think about ways to contribute to the well being of the environment with the intention of living a GREEN life. However, like most people I tend to choose convenience over quality. For example I have stopped buying paper tissues which I used to carry with me, I replaced paper towels with cloth. Not only do I save money I create less trash.

When it comes to the consumption of meat, I live in Bangkok, Thailand where the food is not only delicious but cheap compared to other BIG Asian cities. As a result, I fill my love for meat everyday.

I remember growing up in India with my brother. My single Mom would would cook  fish and meat only on weekends. I still don’t know if that was part one of the many religious traditions or just because my mother didn’t have enough money to buy meat and fish everyday. Ah I used to be in great shape until I moved to Europe after my high school graduation.

I started eating meat almost on a daily basis after I moved to France 13 years ago.

The above mentioned memory gave me an idea, I don’t want to become VEGAN. Because I believe a healthy human being needs a varied diet. But I plan to eat meat only 5 days per week as a starting point. My goal is to gradually increase these MEATLESS days to 4 (3 days with Meat and 4 days without).

Even better I think they should have an International no MEAT day per week.

Bonne journée.

Cartoon blog day 14: Money goals

Hey I tried to color my cartoon today because I had more time.

CBD14 Money goals

I heard some people have even planned what age they are going to die, what age the are going to retire and so on. But I cannot emphasize this enough, i truly believe that enjoying the experience, the process is a healthier way to live.

Maybe this comes from the fact that in schools we are trained to get good grades, good results even if you are even interested in learning at all.

Even in case of marriages, if you are getting married to have a family what happens after you have a child and the child grows up and leaves the house? I still feel that most relationships are means to an end not an end in itself.

Is that why, couples gets separated after their kids grow up?

At the same time I have never been married and I am single at the moment so maybe I am not the best person to listen to.

What are your money goals?

Bonne Journée.

Cartoon blog day 13: Corporate culture

I used to work for a multinational company in the automotive industry. I don’t know how much money the company spent on building a “corporate culture”, needless to say it felt important.

There is nothing wrong with that, after all, you have people from different cultures working together towards company’s goals.

CBD13 Corporate culture.jpg

I am still not sure whether this corporate culture is a solution to cultural differences or a genuine attempt to make employees feel like they belong in a social structure. You have probably heard Managers’ speeches like “We are a family”. (Then what about my real family?)

As you might have noticed I referred to the corporate culture as a possible solution which means cultural differences are seen as problems.

But cultural differences are problems only when faced with the method that the company followed so far to get successful results. A Japanese company follows a Japanese approach, a French company follows a French approach and so on.

Cultural differences are not problems, they are part of our reality.

I feel that these differences are not discussed in all honesty not only because of their complexity but also in fear of offending someone in the process. It’s like a relationship in a couple if you don’t address the differences they will build up exponentially. But people won’t talk about them, because it’s easier to break up than to lose your job.

Bonne journée.
